"PRACTICE WITH PURPOSE"

One of the most difficult tasks we have as Tennis Players is to find time to practice. When we do find the time to practice most of the time we just want to play points so we rush through the warmup without any productive results.

Next time you are heading to the court, (make sure you go through the proper warmup routine, don't stretch while your muscles are cold)Before you play points, Manage the time that you have and practice one stroke for 20 minutes at various positions on the court. Here is a sample drill you can do with your partner.

After warm up, set a cone or empty tennis ball can 3 feet in the court from the baseline and see who can hit the cone first. Start with down the line for 10 minutes and than cross court for 10 minutes.

This "Simple Practice" drill will force you to concentrate on one stroke and practice for a specific target. This will build your confidence and consistency.

Remember, Practice with Purpose and you will enjoy your time on court!
